Booking and confirmation
Submitting the website form is an availability request, not a confirmed booking. A lesson becomes confirmed only when First Pass Academy agrees the instructor, date, time, pickup area, duration and price with you. Prices shown on the website should be confirmed before payment.
Learner responsibilities
- Hold the correct valid provisional or full driving licence and bring it when requested.
- Meet the legal eyesight standard and be fit to drive.
- Tell the instructor about any matter that may affect safe or lawful driving.
- Do not attend under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or medication that makes driving unsafe.
- Treat instructors, vehicles and other road users respectfully.
An instructor may end or refuse a lesson where continuing would be unsafe or unlawful.
Cancellation and late arrival
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson. With less notice, or for a missed lesson, the full lesson charge may be payable because the reserved time may not be filled. Genuine exceptional circumstances may be reviewed individually.
If an instructor cancels, the lesson will be rearranged or any amount paid for that lesson will be credited or refunded. If a pupil arrives late, the lesson will normally still finish at the agreed time. If an instructor is late, the lost lesson time will be added or credited.
Payments, packages and refunds
Package credit is personal to the named pupil and cannot be transferred without written agreement. Packages are valid for six months from purchase, with reasonable extensions considered for medical or exceptional circumstances.
Any statutory cancellation or refund rights remain unaffected. When tuition has started, a refund of unused package credit may take account of lessons already delivered at the applicable non-package rate, but the exact calculation must be provided before purchase.
Practical tests and use of the tuition car
Use of a tuition car for a practical test is not automatic. It depends on instructor availability, a prior assessment, the learner demonstrating safe control, and the vehicle and test arrangements being suitable. First Pass Academy may decline test use where the instructor reasonably considers it unsafe.
No driving instructor or school can guarantee a test pass. Learning material and practice routes support tuition but are not official or predicted DVSA test routes.
