Who is responsible
First Pass Academy is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us at hello@firstpassacademy.co.uk or 07548 500902.
Information we collect
When you request a lesson or contact us, you may provide your name, telephone number, email address, pickup postcode, availability, driving experience, test date and centre, lesson preferences and any notes you choose to share. If you become a pupil, we may also keep booking, payment, lesson, progress and communication records.
If you create a pupil account, we keep your verified email, account identifier and the lesson reports connected to your pupil record. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to First Pass Academy.
The Learning Centre can remember completed topics in your browser storage. This progress stays on that device and is not used to identify you.
Why and how we use it
- To answer enquiries and take steps towards arranging lessons.
- To deliver, manage and improve driving tuition.
- To maintain payment, safety and business records.
- To communicate changes, reminders and lesson information.
- To meet legal obligations and handle complaints or claims.
We normally rely on steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations and our legitimate interests in running a safe and effective driving school. We will ask separately before sending optional marketing.
Lesson requests and external services
The lesson request form prepares a message in your browser. Preparing or copying it does not send a request or confirm a booking. You can choose to open WhatsApp, open your email app or copy the message and send it yourself. The form does not save your answers to our website account or database; reloading the page clears them. If you copy the message, a copy may remain in your device clipboard. When you send it, your chosen messaging or email provider processes it under its own privacy terms, and we receive the details you send. Telephone, email, Google Maps, Google Reviews, YouTube and other external links are also operated by their respective providers.
Optional website analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which public pages are useful and how often visitors click our telephone, WhatsApp and lesson-request links. A click does not mean a call was completed or a lesson was booked. Analytics is off until you select Accept analytics. Rejecting it does not affect booking or learning features.
We send a page address without its query string or fragment and fixed action names. We do not send form answers, names, telephone numbers, email addresses, lesson reports or account identifiers. Account and instructor pages are excluded. Google processes technical information such as browser/device details and network information to provide the service. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our website tag.
Your choice is remembered on this browser for six months. When accepted, Google may set _ga and _ga_* cookies; we configure a six-month expiry. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of a page to change your choice or withdraw permission. Withdrawing stops future analytics and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies on this website; it does not remove data already received by Google. You can contact hello@firstpassacademy.co.uk with privacy questions. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Who may receive your information
We may share only the information needed with the instructor providing your lesson, service providers supporting communications, secure account hosting and records, professional advisers, insurers, or public authorities where the law requires it. Supabase supports the secure pupil account and report database. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as it is needed. Enquiries that do not become bookings are normally deleted after 12 months. Active pupil records are retained while tuition continues. Transaction and accounting records are normally kept for the applicable statutory period, usually six years, and longer only where the law or a legal claim requires it.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or transfer of your personal information. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first if you would like us to review or correct anything.
